Duracell Coppertop Alkaline Batteries in Bulk
What image is evoked in your mind, at the mention of the word Coppertop?
Cellular phones? No.
As a household word in the 21st century, the word Coppertop is synonymous with one thing and one thing only. It’s synonymous with Duracell Alkaline Batteries.
There are some ad campaigns that do not merely identify a product and/or brand to us (for that’s what all ad campaigns are designed to do at the very least), but instead, because they become so widely known and reach household-word status, are able to reach the minds of multiple generations over time. Children of parents using the product will hear the name without the children themselves perhaps even knowing what the product is. They grow up knowing about the product without perhaps even ever having used it themselves until much later in life. Duracell Coppertop batteries is one such product.
As a child growing up, I had heard the term, long before I was a consumer. Long before I ever bought my own stuff. When it did come time for me to purchase batteries for the Kodak Pocket Instamatic Camera I received as a birthday present when I turned 15, it was simply a no-brainer that I’d look for Duracell Coppertops, for that was the trade name already front and center in my mind.
My knowledge base of batteries at that time had few facts:
A battery had a minus sign at one end and a plus sign at the other end
It came in a few different sizes, and
Duracell Coppertop was what a battery was
As KleenexTM was the name you probably thought of when you thought about tissues, as Campbell’sTM might have been the name you thought of when you thought about soup, CoppertopTM was the name you thought about for batteries.
I still remember their TV commercials back in the 60’s. In an animation of sorts, the coppertop portion of the battery would be split apart from the rest of the cell. Then, with what seemed like the sound of a door slamming shut, the Coppertop portion of the cell would swing around as if on an invisible “hinge”, and match up with the rest of the battery to be united as one. It was such a solid sound I remember, and it made the viewer understand clearly, that this product was SOLID!
And it was. And it is. And it always will be.
No matter which TV campaign Duracell used for it’s Coppertop line, it always ended with the coppertop “hinge” closing to the rest of the battery. You can check out a sample of the Coppertop “hinge” commercial (credit to youtube.com) .
Duracell Coppertops Batteries are reliable batteries. And isn’t that ultimately what we need in batteries? Reliability? They have just one function to perform – to power our devices. What good then, is a battery that fails to do that?
Here’s what the folks at Duracell have to say: (credit to the Duracell.com website)
“CopperTop batteries have been engineered to deliver just the right level of power for most of your household needs. They’re not about excessive power, they’re about proper power.
Many of the devices you use in your home are powered most efficiently by Duracell CopperTop batteries, including: toys, Remote Controls, Clocks and Radios, Smoke Alarms and Flashlights. To fit virtually every device out there, CopperTop alkaline batteries are available in AAA, AA, C, D, and 9-volt sizes”.
Here’s what we at ONLYBATTERIES.COM have to say about Duracell Coppertops: "Buy them when you want the best in Alkaline batteries!"
If you want expert batteries, get the cells made by the experts. As expert batteries go, The Duracell (origin from the two words: Durable and Cell) Coppertop battery is it!
Coppertop (sometimes mistakenly written or typed as Copper Top (two words) and Copper-top (hyphenated), batteries are manufactured in AA, AAA, C, D and 9 Volt sizes.
9 Volt coppertops are commonly used in smoke detectors. Let’s talk a moment about that...
You may not be aware of this but smoke detectors should NEVER be powered by rechargeable batteries. Rechargeable batteries lose their charge (called discharge, or self discharge) on a continual bases between charges. They self-discharge even when IDLE, (not in use). As smoke detectors perform the essential task of alerting us to smoke or fire, we MUST be able to count on them without question, to have power. A rechargeable battery that “seaps” or discharges power can therefore, NOT be relied upon to work when needed in such an imporant device as a smoke detector.
Non-rechargeable battery chemistries do not self discharge at nearly the same rate. Yes, all batteries can discharge some of their power when not in use but the amount of discharge on single-use, non-rechargeable (also called throw-away or disposable) batteries boasts the feature that they will retain about 85 percent of their charge over the span of a year. The batteries in smoke detectors (and the smoke detectors themselves) ought to be tested twice a year (at minimum) for function anyway, so using a 9 Volt Alkaline battery in your smoke detector is the way to go – just be sure to regularly test the battery and the detector as part of your usual home maintenance routine.
9 Volt Duracell Alkaline Coppertop batteries (Alkaline being non-rechargeable battery chemistry) is the solid choice for smoke detector power.
