CR2 Batteries “Necessity is the mother of invention”, this is a well know proverb which can also be seen in someway or the other with CR2 batteries. With the increase of electronics in market and in daily use, its manufacture is also increasing. The use of lithium batteries in electronic devices and its importance is increasing its demand and its price all over the world. These lithium batteries are used in digital cameras and other such electronic devices. CR2 is also one of these lithium batteries. Duracell, Energizer, and Sanyo are the three major companies who prepare these batteries on a large scale and the batteries made of these companies are supposed to be of the best standard. CR2 and lithium photo batteries are mostly used in calculators, digital cameras, pagers, memory backup, and watches. If we compare the lithium photo battery or CR2 battery with the alkaline battery, we can easily conclude the result that the CR2 batteries are far better in performance then the alkaline batteries. CR2 and other lithium batteries are tested to get more pictures per battery than the ordinary alkaline ones. CR2 batteries made from different brands are not the same in performance, but they have almost the same features. All the CR2 batteries have the same size and the same dimentions and they all have the same functionality; other then the battery life and its durability, as discussed above. Regular price of a CR2 battery is about $3.5 to $4. The price mostly varies with the increase or decrease of the quality of the batteries. Lithium batteries that are rechargeable are found in mobile electronic devices mostly; for example, we see Li-ion batteries in cellular phones, digital cameras laptop computers, camcorders and many more such devices. The rechargeable batteries have the following characteristics: • Lithium Ion (Li-ion) • Nickel Cadmium (Ni-Cd) • Small Sealed Lead* (Pb) • Nickel Metal Hydride (Ni-MH) The CR2 batteries are recyclable and they can be sent back to some specific companies who offer the recycling of these batteries. The most common method of recycling these batteries is by The Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation (RBRC). They help you in getting your rechargeable batteries recycled. Size of the CR2 batteries is also smaller then the other batteries that are used usually. This is due to their compatibility in the electronic devices and the use of these batteries in small electronic applications. Therefore, if you have to choose between lithium and alkaline batteries, lithium batteries are the best choice. Re-Charging: You can find some charger for these batteries in the market because the CR2 batteries are rechargeable. The charger can easily plug into the socket and you can put the battery in the charger. After a desired amount of time, the battery will be charged. For charging purposes, you should get a battery charges that suits your battery otherwise it may harm you in many ways. If you do not know what should be the charger for your battery, you can see the cover of the battery that can tell you what should be the charger that you should use for that battery, and still if you have any confusion, you can contact the dealer of the battery, or the retailer to know about the charger of that specific battery.
